School Canopy Case Study - Stonehill Nursery School, Derby
Littlethorpe of Leicester completed a replacement School Canopy which complied with the local authorities requirements.
Stonehill Nursery School required a new school canopy to replace their existing canopy.
The access was restricted, digging through synthetic grass, very flat roof requiring a specialist technique to join the roofing sheets
The design of the roof was made especially for that location because there were restrictions being placed on the site; it had to be kept low to be below the height of a boundary wall but tall enough to meet minimum height restriction underneath the canopy.
Although a relatively small job it still required full structural calculations, method statements and risk assessments and a project manager to liaise between the city council who are the landlords, the school, and the contractor providing maintenance services to the city.
Timescale and Budget
The job took 2 days onsite to complete and was completed on time, and on budget.
